Superintendent's Message

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! It is my privilege to greet you for the first time as the new Superintendent of the Little Lake City School District, and on behalf of our Board of Education and dedicated staff, I want you to know how glad we are that you're part of this community.

This year marks my 30th in the Little Lake City School District. I've had the honor of serving this community as a teacher, a principal, an assistant superintendent, and now as your superintendent. Over these three decades, I've watched our district grow and improve in so many ways, and I've never lost sight of the fact that our work is never truly done. Every year brings new opportunities to do better for our students, and I'm energized to lead that effort alongside you.

Thank you for entrusting us with your child's education. Little Lake City has built a reputation for academic excellence that extends well beyond our borders — all nine of our schools carry the California Gold Ribbon designation, are recognized as Title I High Achieving Schools, and have earned honors from the California Business for Education Excellence. Both of our middle schools are recognized as National Schools to Watch, and our district as a whole has earned national recognition as a School to Watch District. We've proudly carried the title "District on the Move," and I intend to keep that momentum going.

What makes this district special isn't just the recognition, it's the work behind it. Our teachers and staff focus daily on the whole child, pairing strong academics with real attention to students' social and emotional well-being. We know families are essential partners in that work, which is why we offer parent education and workshops, and open pathways for parents to take on leadership roles through the School Site Council and other district committees. I'd encourage you to get involved in whatever way fits your family.

Safety remains a top priority across every campus. That starts with strong relationships between our schools, families, and the broader community, backed by clear communication and shared accountability. We're also grateful for our continued partnerships with Norwalk Public Safety, Santa Fe Springs Police Services, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, and the Whittier Police Department, all of whom help keep our campuses secure.

I'm looking forward to a great year ahead, working alongside our staff and families to give every student the support they need to thrive in a safe, nurturing, and academically strong environment.
