Wellness Policy

Wellness Policy 

Little Lake City School District would like to provide information regarding its Wellness Policy and Wellness Advisory Committee.  The most updated policy can be found under the Wellness Policy link on the left side of this page, and on the District's website under; Board of Education, Board Policy, BP 5030.  The District's Wellness Advisory Committee is currently led by the Director of Nutrition Services.  The committee includes representation by; parents, students, the District nurse, Nutrition Services staff, physical education teachers, board members and school and District administrators.  The committee continues to work on strengthening the District's wellness goals to support physical activity, nutrition education, nutrition promotion and encouraging a healthy lifestyle for the District's students and staff.

Key Areas of Our Wellness Policy

Balance is essential for any Wellness Policy. Key areas include:

  • Nutrition education and promotion
  • Physical activity
  • Other school-based activities 
  • Nutrition guidelines for foods available during the school day
  • Guidelines for school meals

Join the Wellness Advisory Committee

The following is a list of foods and beverages that meet the standards for all grade levels as of December 18, 2024. This list is up to date to the best of our knowledge, however, product formulation changes happen frequently without notice. This list is not all-inclusive, additional items may be used if identified as compliant by the quick reference cards. Alternative items may be available at different stores.
