Educational Services
Under the leadership of Lauren Hernandez, Educational Services oversees all curriculum and staff development for teachers and principals. The Division is responsible for maintaining standards-based programs, ensuring the acquisition of standards-based instructional materials, collecting and interpreting student performance data and their relationship to instruction. The Division also oversees instructional technology and manages the implementation of state and federally-funded programs such as Title I.
Lauren Hernandez was promoted to the position of Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services effective July 2026. Prior to assuming this role, she served very successfully as a LLCSD Teacher, Literacy Coach, and Interventionist. She also served as the Assistant Principal at Lakeside Middle School, Principal at Lakeview Elementary, and was the Director of Curriculum.
ARTS & MUSIC IN SCHOOLS
On November 8, 2022, California voters approved Proposition 28: The Arts and Music in Schools (AMS) Funding Guarantee and Accountability Act. The measure required the state to establish a new, ongoing program supporting arts instruction in schools beginning in 2023–24.
