Welcome To Our District

Welcome to the Little Lake City School District. On behalf of the Board of Education, our staff, and myself, it is my pleasure to greet you. Established in 1871, our suburban elementary school district is situated in the southeastern part of Los Angeles County, encompassing Santa Fe Springs, Norwalk, and Downey. We are proud to serve a diverse student population across nine schools, consisting of seven elementary schools and two middle schools. The governance of the District is entrusted to a five-member Board of Education.

At the Little Lake City School District, student achievement is at the forefront of our mission, and we have been consistently recognized for our dedication to academic excellence. We are honored to have received numerous accolades, including the distinction of being designated as “Title I Academic Achieving Award Schools” and “California Gold Ribbon Schools” for all our schools. Additionally, we have been honored by California Business for Education Excellence, and both of our middle schools have been named “National Schools to Watch.” Furthermore, our district as a whole has been recognized as a “National School to Watch District,” and we take pride in being known as a “District on the Move.”

As the newly appointed Superintendent of the Little Lake City School District, I am humbled and excited to embark on this journey with a community that holds a special place in my heart. With 31 years of experience in education, including 13 years as Superintendent in the Los Nietos School District, I bring a deep passion for fostering educational excellence. I am eager to collaborate with our dedicated educators, staff, students, and families to provide a nurturing and empowering learning environment. Together, let us build upon our District’s achievements and set new milestones as we strive for educational greatness.

Our District takes pride in being a top-performing school district. However, many of our schools, built 70 years ago, require health and safety repairs, including asbestos and lead testing.

To address this, the Board of Education has introduced Measure LL, a Classroom Repair, Health, and Safety Measure. It aims to fund repairs for deteriorating facilities, upgrade air filtration, security systems, and meet earthquake safety standards. Measure LL also includes funding to enhance science, engineering, and computer instruction, improve Internet access, and ensure compliance with accessibility requirements. Family Resource Center

The LLCSD Family Resource Center’s Mission is to eliminate barriers for all LLCSD students by providing comprehensive services to our most vulnerable populations and advocating for successful transitions, re-engagement, and social emotional awareness with the goal of empowering students to reach their potential and maximize higher educational achievement.
