Measure LR/LS
Measure LR/LS: Superintendent's Message
Dear Little Lake City Schools Community:
I am proud to serve as your new Interim Superintendent of the Little Lake City School District, and I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support of our students and schools. Our community has always come together for the benefit of our children, and that spirit is what makes Little Lake City School District so special.
With this in mind, I want to update you on actions our Board of Education took to place Measures LR and LS on the June 2nd ballot.
By repairing aging schools and maintaining student achievement, funds generated by Measures LR and LS will help our District maintain 21st century learning and ensure safety at each school site. Some of our local schools were built almost 75 years ago and still have asbestos and lead; deteriorating bathrooms, leaky roofs, and cracked asphalt. Critically, bond funds can only be used for facility repairs and improvements meaning these investments would be made without drawing from the base funding that directly supports our students, teachers, and classrooms every day.
If enacted, Measures LR and LS generate a total of $90,000,000 in bonds costing property owners 3cents per $100 of assessed (not market) valuation per measure while bonds are outstanding.
Thanks to your continued support, our schools remain among the top performing in our region. Thank you for making an informed decision before you vote.
